Frequently Asked Questions...Who is Windsor?
Windsor is a fee-only, independent registered investment advisory firm. We specialize in equity, fixed-income and balanced portfolio management for families, high net-worth individuals and institutional clients. We have offices in Phoenix, Oak Brook, and Burbank serving clients in over 15 states. Windsor is dedicated to personal attention and goal-oriented investment management.
What is your fee for portfolio management?
Our average fee for portfolio management is below the industry average. The average U.S. stock mutual fund charges 1.31%* (not including trading costs, research fees and sales loads). We believe we offer a highly value-oriented service in return for a fair management fee. Also, unlike mutual fund fees, loads and commissions, a management fee is tax deductible for most clients. What level of service and attention should I expect with Windsor?
Each client service representative is limited to the number of relationships they manage. The average broker generally serves hundreds of clients. We feel our clients deserve to be one of the few instead of one of the crowd. Having their own dedicated representative that understands their goals, objectives, risk tolerances, as well as being available for them at anytime provides our clients with a very high comfort level.
How much communication do I have with my portfolio manager?
Communication is usually the number one reason people become dissatisfied with their advisor. Because of our low manager to client ratio, we are able to communicate with our clients as often as our clients would like. At Windsor, we are dedicated to developing an effective partnership with every client.
Does Windsor provide online account viewing?
Besides receiving your monthly statements from the custodian of your assets, we provide our clients online access to their accounts through our website. Our own proprietary reports are also available for reviews and provide our clients a portfolio breakdown as to sectors, percent invested, a combined view of all their accounts as well as other customizable reports.
What are the benefits of being a Windsor client?
Why should I hire Windsor to manage my investment portfolio? Many investors have experienced advisors or brokers in the past who put their own needs above the needs of the client. When they are driven by commission sales, quotas on proprietary products and the need to add more and more clients, it all contributes to the negative view many investors have of this industry. At Windsor, we are not sales people. Our pay is directly related to the success of your portfolio. We understand that constant communication, dedicated one-on-one service, goal-oriented investing and well-earned trust encapsulates the partnership we have with our clients. If I decide to hire Windsor, what are the next steps?
Together we will develop an Investment Policy Statement. This is done to make sure we are “on the same page” when it comes to your guidelines and expectations. During this time, the few forms to begin our relationship will be processed.
